How to fix runonce in IE7

The runonce window is something which will display once you install the Internet explorer 7. See the below screen shot of the runonce window in the internet explorer 7

Whenever you open the Internet explorer it will display this page without showing your homepage even if you try to change your home page it will not go away so lets see how can we fix this.

Method 1 Using Group policy Editer

1. Go to Start > Run > and type “gpedit.msc”, press enter.
2. Then go to User configuration>Administrative templates>Windows Components>Internet Explorer
3. On the right side you can see the “Prevent performance of First Run Customize settings”
Right click on it and click on Properties
4. Then configure it using the below screen shot

Method 2 using the Registry

1. Click on Start>Run>Type Regedit Then press enter
2. Then navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main

On the right side you could see “Start Page” Chat it to: “about:blank”

3. Then navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main

Change the “RunOnceHasShown” on the right and change the value to 1
